: Only Call Her Sanjaya!
Kristy Lee Cook did a better job than usual. I’ll admit that.
But I’ll say it again – as I do each week – she is the one with the least amount of skills. How is it that so many people are irritated by her and want to see her go – yet she gets voted in another week?
Who does she think she is? Sanjaya? Ah?

Sanjaya Malakar was season six’s anomaly… which basically meant he had a huge fan base. Some were voting because they truly liked the shy teen.
Others thought it was funny to keep him in the competition. Those mischievous voters took on Operation Sanjaya. He was finally eliminated at #7.
The way Kristy Lee is going, do you think she has that Sanjaya power? With one good song this week, Kristy Lee didn’t even get in the bottom three. Mind you that one good song — is still the weakest performance out of the bunch.
The bottom half consisted of Syesha Mercado (one of the best this week) and Jason Castro (another good one). However, they both had the votes to escape those cold lonely silver stools.
Chikezie Eze, by the way, had the least amount of votes this week. He sang himself off the show tonight. Gave the ladies in the audience a wink, caressed adoring fans’ hands…
And we saw how his mom was grooving with those… come to mama… hand movements.
That cute smile of his. The orange suit. Chikezie always looks so sincere and genuine.
Tonight it was not easy being Chikeze. But I can grasp he’s had it worse.
An American Idol show record of more than 30 million votes came in for the contestants this week. Tonight we saw the top 10 sing together. It looked more like a lip sync from the Brady family.
You know, the contestants really do work hard all week. They have places to be. They have to learn their group song and the performance as well as their own song… practice, practice, practice!
The competitors told us today (plug-plug) they get by with a little help from their iPods. We also learned that when you download the contestants’ songs from iTunes, you get the full length version. An extra! Everyone loves an extra! When you watch the show, you are only seeing a condensed version of the song.
I don’t understand what Carly Smithson was doing freaking out seeing herself on an iTunes cover or whatever it was… Hasn’t she already produced and sold records? And videos too.
The Ford video was very creative the way the contestants just showed up singing “I Want You to Want Me” on that guy’s T-shirt. They all looked adorable.
I’m curious.. is any one out there entering the American Idol songwriter contest? Or do you know someone who is?

american idol
is an American televised singing competition, which began its first season on June 11, 2002.
Part of the american idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which was first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.
The program seeks to discover the greatest young singer in the country through a series of nationwide auditions.
The outcomes of the later stages of this competition are determined by public voting by phone.
The format features three judges who give critiques of the contestants’ performances in order to facilitate the voting: record producer Randy Jackson; pop singer and choreographer Paula Abdul; and record executive Simon Cowell.
The show is hosted by former children’s game show emcee and television personality Ryan Seacrest; comedian Brian Dunkleman cohosted with Seacrest in season one.
The american idol band is led by Rickey Minor. The show usually airs on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the US and Thursday and Friday nights in the UK (two days after the US airing). In its six seasons, its six winners have been Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and Jordin Sparks, respectively.
