The network announced that the Wednesday results show will expand to one hour starting March 12.

The change means that “The Return of Jezebel James,” a new comedy from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, won’t get a primo preview after “Idol” on March 12. Instead, that comedy will start with back-to-back episodes at 8 p.m.

March 14. And March 14 is a Friday, a night when viewing levels are low. That scheduling – I don’t take it as a good sign.

“Idol Gives Back,” the hugely successful fund-raiser, will be staged from 8 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. No contender will be ejected that evening. Instead, that news will be revealed in an episode to air at 9 p.m.

Thursday, April 10. Yes, “Idol – fox american idol results” will air three nights that week.

You want more “Idol”? Fox (fox american idol results) wants to keep you happy – and roll up big ratings.

american idol auditions

As everybody knows, American Idol is a television show that has has swept the world by storm.

American Idol auditions thousands of amateur singers from across the USA.

From the American Idol auditions, a selected number of these amateur singers are chosen to compete with each other to win the coveted title of American Idol.

American Idol has a British flavor to it. The American Idol game show was first conceptualized on the lines of the show Pop Idol from United Kingdom and at this time American Idol is being produced by the same United Kingdom producers Ken Warwick and Simon Fuller who also produced Pop Idol.

How The American Idol Audition Works

The American Idol auditions are typically performed in six to seven U.S. cities every season.

If you have ever get the chance to watch an American Idol audition then you will notice that there are some outstanding singers that get cut, while some not so talented singers are selected. Many a time I have wondered while watching the judges screw up time and again at the American Idol auditions, are they seeing and hearing what I do?

The thousands of contestants selected during the American Idol auditions will be filtered into a few hundred.

During the next stage of American Idol auditions, the contestants are further filtered in the Hollywood round and ultimately 24 contestants will go to the semifinals of which 12 are females and 12 males. In the final round of American Idol, the contestants will be further reduced to an even dozen.

From this 12, a singer will be eliminated from bottom three contestants each week until the final episode. During the final episode only two singers will remain and from these two finalists, the winner and the runner up are selected.

From their first American Idol audition all the way until the finals, American Idol gives us a ton of great music mixed with a lot of laughs along the way.

From American Idol Audition To American Idol

Many an amateur singer dreams about getting their big break in American Idol and try very hard to get an American Idol audition. Some come out with flying colors while some fail miserably.

But we should realize there can be only winner at the end the day and each and every performer who emerged from their American Idol audition with such high hopes cannot be an American Idol.

It takes much more than a beautiful singing voice to become the American Idol. Apart from a talented singing voice, a competitor also needs to have the right personality to win their competition. An American Idol competitor needs to have both rhythm and command over different tunes besides having a beautiful voice .

Also, having the ability to dance along with their singing is also a huge advantage over others who can’t dance worth a lick. There are some former competitors who have stated their regrets at not having taken dance lessons prior to their American Idol audition.

The American Idol Auditions Website

It is important that you do not forget to read and if possible memorize the information provided on Fox television’s American Idol website if you are planning to audition for American Idol.

Head to the sites FAQ section www.americanidol.com/auditions/ because there are lot of frequently asked questions and answers that you may find both informative and useful on this website.

Hopefully, you will be able to clear many misconceptions you have by reading the information provided. The eligibility criterion to get an American Idol audition is that you should be between the ages of 16 and 29 and you have to be a citizen or permanent resident of this country.

Be sure that you check the American Idol website and take note of exactly what they specify for the city where you plan to audition because both the audition format and rules for each city where American Idol auditions are held keep on changing each year.

Some Useful American Idol Auditioning Hints And Tricks

“You should feel the lyrics when you are singing a song and the expressions should show on your face.” is some helpful advice given to future American Idol contestants by some of the previous winners of the American Idol.

Some more advise is: “When giving your American Idol audition, you need to really put everything you can into the song you are singing.”

Also they advise that prior to giving your American Idol audition “you should rehearse the songs you choose over and over again until you perfect it and sing the same song in front of the judges with full confidence and capture their attention and imagination and leave them wanting to hear more from you.”

It is important that you remember to focus you attention on getting though the current round and each time you make it into next round you have gained an extra chance to show off your talents and best of all, you are that much closer to winning the American Idol crown. Although your American Idol audition will probably be done “a capella” (without instruments) and without a microphone as well. Don’t panic. It’s a very good way to train.

American Idol Audition – Auditioning All Of You

Also remember, there is a good possibility that you may be asked about your favorite role models. Who are they? Can you describe them?

So, Try your best to come up with a few names. How you speak is important, but remember, it is better to sound uneducated than to sound ignorant. In other words, try to strengthen your verbalization and vocabulary but if you are not sure of the usage of a particular word, find another word or phrase.

Don’t force it. There is a good chance that you will be asked to talk about yourself, so be concise and be prepared.

The cliche “dress for success” comes into play here. The judges will be grading you on the way you dress. Never be under dressed, but definitely get fashionable as well as color coordinated if at all possible.

During your American Idol audition the judges will be expecting you to be respectful, honest and truthful. Don’t disappoint them. After observing past American Idol auditions, it seems as if the judges like the contestants who dedicate the songs they sing to their family members and/or friends.

With so much on the line, you might want to take a few voice-training classes prior to your American idol audition. A good voice coach can greatly increases your chances of making it into American Idol.

By following the tips and facts on the American Idol audition discussed above there should be no stopping you in your quest to become the next American Idol.

Simon Cowell said of David Archuleta: “He’s cute. He’s likeable. [He has] a big voice. He’s the one to beat.”

David Archuleta has already turned in two solid performances on American Idol: “Shop Around” and “Imagine”.

Do you think Simon Cowell’s prediction is right on?

I hate to agree with Simon… but I think David Archuleta is the one to beat!

American Idol Songs

Have you ever wondered how song selection works on American Idol?

In a press interview, recently eliminated American Idol finalist David Hernandez tried to clear up some of the confusion over the american idol songs selection process.

On theme weeks, contestants are given a pre-selected list of songs from which to choose. Hernandez said: “We just put in our top three and then it’s chosen from there.”

So, what happens when two contestants want the same song? This very situation happened to David Hernandez. Hernandez revealed that the song he sang during the American Idol top twelve performance show, “I Saw Her Standing There” was not his first choice of song. Hernandez said, “My first choice was ‘Let It Be,’ but that was already taken.”

As American Idol viewers know, Brook White was the finalist who actually sang “Let It Be.” Hernandez explained, “It just is a first come, first serve basis, and it was between ‘Let It Be’ and ‘I Saw Her Standing There,’ and I chose the more upbeat song, because I wanted to perform it and have a little bit more of an upbeat paced song. That’s basically how it worked.”

A couple weeks ago, eliminated American Idol semi-finalist Garrett Haley, who also didn’t get his first song choice, offered up a similar explanation.

Garrett said, “We’re allowed to choose three songs from a list, and every contestant is like for sure to get one of the songs, and I didn’t get to get any of my songs because they gave the songs out to all the contestants before that.

So, I was just ending up with having to choose from the list again. And I don’t know, I didn’t really get to choose, they just threw the song at me and said, ‘here sing this one,’ and I was like ‘ok.’”

So, how is it decided which contestant gets first crack at the songs? Here is where it gets confusing.

When Garrett Haley was asked that question, he said, “You know what, I wasn’t too sure about that. I think it was random.” However, when asked the same question, Hernandez said, “If someone has the same song, then we draw out of a hat.”

So, is there some type of random order assigned to who gets first dibs on song selection or do contestants draw out of a hat if they select the same song? Or do producers decide who they want to have a certain song and then work to try to convince other contestants to be happy with another song?

While how which singer has preference if two singers select the same song might still be a little confusing, Hernandez did make it clear that he was not upset over Brooke White getting the song that he originally wanted.

Hernandez said, “I did want to do ‘Let It Be,’ but it was, in fact, gone when it was my turn to pick, but just to clarify, I am happy with what I did choose and in no way do I feel like Brooke White didn’t deserve the song.

Do you know what I mean? I don’t want there to be a misconception there for everybody that’s listening. It was fair.

Everything was fair, like it always is on American Idol, and I felt confident in my song or else they wouldn’t have made me move forward with that song. It’s all up to the contestants and they choose their songs.”

: Only Call Her Sanjaya!

Kristy Lee Cook did a better job than usual. I’ll admit that.

But I’ll say it again – as I do each week – she is the one with the least amount of skills. How is it that so many people are irritated by her and want to see her go – yet she gets voted in another week?

Who does she think she is? Sanjaya? Ah?

In obedience to the

American Idol Results

Sanjaya Malakar was season six’s anomaly… which basically meant he had a huge fan base. Some were voting because they truly liked the shy teen.

Others thought it was funny to keep him in the competition. Those mischievous voters took on Operation Sanjaya. He was finally eliminated at #7.

The way Kristy Lee is going, do you think she has that Sanjaya power? With one good song this week, Kristy Lee didn’t even get in the bottom three. Mind you that one good song — is still the weakest performance out of the bunch.

The bottom half consisted of Syesha Mercado (one of the best this week) and Jason Castro (another good one). However, they both had the votes to escape those cold lonely silver stools.

Chikezie Eze, by the way, had the least amount of votes this week. He sang himself off the show tonight. Gave the ladies in the audience a wink, caressed adoring fans’ hands…

And we saw how his mom was grooving with those… come to mama… hand movements.

That cute smile of his. The orange suit. Chikezie always looks so sincere and genuine.
Tonight it was not easy being Chikeze. But I can grasp he’s had it worse.

An American Idol show record of more than 30 million votes came in for the contestants this week. Tonight we saw the top 10 sing together. It looked more like a lip sync from the Brady family.

You know, the contestants really do work hard all week. They have places to be. They have to learn their group song and the performance as well as their own song… practice, practice, practice!

The competitors told us today (plug-plug) they get by with a little help from their iPods. We also learned that when you download the contestants’ songs from iTunes, you get the full length version. An extra! Everyone loves an extra! When you watch the show, you are only seeing a condensed version of the song.

I don’t understand what Carly Smithson was doing freaking out seeing herself on an iTunes cover or whatever it was… Hasn’t she already produced and sold records? And videos too.

The Ford video was very creative the way the contestants just showed up singing “I Want You to Want Me” on that guy’s T-shirt. They all looked adorable.

I’m curious.. is any one out there entering the American Idol songwriter contest? Or do you know someone who is?
